Continuing the Journey

At the 2010 Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree in Virginia, Executive Producer and star of Discovery Channel’s “Dirty Jobs”, Mike Rowe, was the featured speaker.  Rowe, an Eagle Scout, made his grand entrance riding in the bucket of a Caterpillar front-loader.  He led his opening remarks with, "Let's agree, a Scout is clean... but not afraid to get dirty."

His amusing and poignant speech capped off a yearlong celebration of 100 years of Scouting.  As we wrap up “celebrating the adventure” we now “continue the journey” with the beginning of the new school year.

Not only are we starting off with a new school year, we’re all starting with a new school and a newly chartered Cub Scout Pack!  While we are considered a new Unit, many of our boys and families were members of Postma Pack 834 and spent an exciting year completing their accomplishments and earning their Bobcat, Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelo patches.

For our returning Scouts we welcome you to the new Pack and have a number of great events planned for the year.  We’re also excited to welcome the new members of the Pack and hope that you and your families experience all the fun and excitement that Scouting can bring.
